2008 MAY 07

self_cynicOur newest band on the roster, Self Cynic, is set to release their debut, self-titled album on June 10. Although Self Cynic has been known for it's varying arrangements and contributors, the band has settled comfortably with the four-piece line-up of Matt Antaya (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Luke Atherton (Vocals/Lead Guitar), Harbec (Bass
Guitar) and Lewis Handford (Drums/Back-up Vocals).

Ambitiously unraveling their heroic list of influences, both common and obscure, these impassioned musicians take familiar themes to recently untravelled places. With diversity in their approach to songwriting but consistency in style, the album mixes upbeat, hook-laden tunes with powerful introspective ballads.

Recorded in the fall of 2007, Self Cynic's full-length debut album enjoys contributions from more than a dozen musicians, including Josh Trager (Sam Roberts Band), Matt Leblanc (The Dress Whites), Maia Davies (LOTC), Alec McElcheran (Anik Jean), Arun Pal (Snack!), Jared Lozon (Social Slander) and NYC-based drummer Rob Murphrey.

The band will defy superstition when they launch their album Friday, June 13 at Club Lambi.
